Using the team place calendar

You can link to posted content from a calendar event, move a calendar entry from the calendar to another folder or the Index, hide and redisplay the calendar, and subscribe to certain calendar events.

About this task

In addition to creating calendar events, you can perform several other activities with your team place calendar.

Procedure

  • Merge your place calendar with your Lotus Notes 8.5 calendar as follows:
Note: You must have Lotus Notes 8.5 mail/calendar templates to be able to merge calendars.
    1. In the Calendar component, click Add to personal Calendar.
    2. Select and copy the URL that displays in the dialog box.
    3. From your Lotus Notes calendar, under Show Calendars click Add a Calendar in the calendar view.
    4. Select iCalender feed as the Add type, enter a label (do not use any special characters), and then paste the copied URL into the URL field.
    5. Click OK.
    6. When you are challenged to authenticate, enter your name and password.
You should see team place events integrated into your Notes calendar.
  • You can link an existing task to a slot in a calendar. For example, suppose you create a post called "Sales Meeting Minutes" in a folder called Sales, and then decide you want people to see a link to "Sales Meeting Minutes" when they look at the time slot for the meeting in the calendar. You can create a link to "Sales Meeting Minutes" in the calendar by editing the post.
    1. Enter the place that contains the content you want to link to.
    2. Locate the item and click Check Out and Edit to put the item in edit mode.
    3. Select (Add to) Show in Calendar, and then click Check In.
  • You can hide and redisplay the calendar. If you have manager access and do not want to use the calendar in a place, you can remove it from the table of contents navigator. Similarly, if you removed the calendar and want it to reappear, you can add it to the table of contents.
    1. Click Customize.
    2. Click Basics.
    3. Under Show/Hide -- Check the items that you would like to show in this place, either add or remove the check mark for this feature, and then click Done.
  • Change calendar folder properties such as title and description, select a default, customized event form for users, specify subscription options and other folder display options by clicking More Actions > Calendar Properties.
